Product Overview

MeshGuard Base is the first product needed to install the MeshGuard screening system. The base comes in packs of twenty sticks and are 1 ½ inches wide by 8 feet long and are installed directly onto your deck screen enclosure. Standard Screen Tight Caps can be used with the MeshGuard Base and come in multiple colors for an aesthetically pleasing finished product.

ESR-3938 – MeshGuard has been confirmed by the ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) that it is satisfactory to resist loads specified in Section 1607.8.1.2 of the 2015 and 2012 IBC (Section 1607.7.1.2 of the 2009 IBC) and Table R301.5 of the IRC, when installed at the maximum clear span distance of 72 inches (6-ft, 1828.8 mm) between the posts.

What Height Porch Requires a Railing?

Any deck 30 inches (2 ½ feet) above the ground. Most states’ building codes require any deck or screen enclosure that is 30 inches above ground to have a railing. MeshGuard eliminates the need to use pickets to create a railing — it becomes the railing — and provides insect protection. This guardrail infill system integrates seamlessly with Screen Tight if you plan to create a complete screen enclosure.

How Do You Put MeshGuard Screen On Your Deck or Enclosure?

With all of the components of the MeshGuard system including the MeshGuard Base, MeshGuard Steel Strip, MeshGuard Screen Material, MeshGuard Flat Safety Spline, MeshGuard Self-Drilling Screw, and Screen Tight Cap. The MeshGuard Base and Steel Stip are attached to your enclosure structure with the Self-Drilling Screws. Then the screen is splined into the base, and the Cap is applied on top.
