Much better than original
Used this to replace a broken tack on my sliding screen door. I glued it on with construction adhesive. It works perfectly and so much sturdier than the orignal. Should have done this sooner.

deluxe style bottom track
It was easy to cut to length, file off the burrs, drill and countersink the holes, and install. The length I installed was 69 inches and I secured it with screws at each end and in the middle. This seems to provide adequate stability. The old track was some sort of plastic, embedded in to a slot milled in the bottom of the door opening. After 35 plus years it degraded and pieces of it cracked off. I was able to prise it out, and install the new. The door is now functional again. Unless someone drops a heavy metal object on it, I expect it to last quite some time!

What Cust Svc Recommended
Bought a new screen door but my track rail was somehow too thick for the stainless steel wheels. The track is at least 20 yrs old and was made for wider plastic wheels. Manufacturer out of business. Contacted Metro and they recommended a new track. Mounted it in front of the old track and put the screen door on it. Works great.
